We have been providing the following Dawah Materials to brothers and sisters in the county jails and the female prisons we serve:
Since the COVID-19 Pandemic, TDCJ and many County Jails Religious Literature and Polices have drastically changed. Prison inmates can receive literature books from publishers and approved vendors only. For materials like prayer rugs, Kufis, and Hijabs, inmates must have an approved I-60 or the materials will be returned to the provider at high shipping cost.
HCSO has approved for Salaam Reentry to provide to the Commissary, so any inmate can order and receive it. The challenge for us to provide 5000 Qurans annually. The Commissary is often out of Quran Translations because no Islamic Center has taken responsibility to pay for these
from Zakat funding they receive.
Muslim Communities and Islamic Centers need to:
- Arabic Quran
- English Quran Translation
- Arabic Quran with English Translation
- Spanish Quran Translation
- Salaah Booklet
- Islam Beliefs and Teachings
- Muhammad The Final Messenger
- 200 Hadith
- Fortress of the Muslim Invocations.

- Fulfill the Fard-e-Kifaya obligation to volunteer or pay for volunteers’ mileage to female units so sisters will have consistent weekly volunteer visits.
- Use some of their Zakat funds toward $12,500 yearly cost for Harris County Jails Quran Translations.
