Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has hired a Muslim Chaplain to the chaplaincy team. Imam
Hamid Hardizi has been serving brothers and sisters inside since 2015. It is such a game changer
for timely intervention and support in collaboration with other Chaplains.
2. Salaam Team Members Ahmet Gunduz, Joseph Clark and Aijaz Ahmed will be touring IMAN
Central (Inner-City Muslim Action Network) in Chicago week of June 12, 2023. We look forward
to touring three of their programs: Green ReEntry, Organizing & Advocacy and Health Center.
3. Salaam Reentry has expanded their services to TDCJ female prison units. We had provided basic
Dawah materials to seventeen unit Chaplains. All but three unit chaplains have responded. We
are reaching out to Masajid in central Texas to recruit volunteers around Gatesville.
